Stash Report #17

(Just to let everyone know that the apple core blocks are going to Mary-Kay)

Haven't done much of anything these last 4 weeks. Had human company twice, animal company once and just plain lazy the rest of the time. But this week I told myself to get busy and I did!

I began this scrappy apple core quilt three years ago for my mother's birthday. She will be getting it this year for Mother's Day. Nice to have one of my UFOs finished. I really like the scrappiness of it.

I used my accuquilt die to cut the blocks,  not sure why I procrastinated on it for such a long time. There are 462 blocks in this quilt. It is about 98x96 inches. One of the blocks glows in the dark, it has bats on it.

Check out other quilters who are making quilts from their stash.

Okay, I have a 4 inch pile (compressed) of left over apple core blocks.

I didn't go through them one by one and a few might have a corner missing.  They have the notches which makes pinning so much easier. There are duplicates. I estimate  more than 300 blocks are in the stack.  The block meausres 6.5 x 5. They are not pre-washed. I don't plan on making another apple core quilt anytime soon and thought there might be someone out in blogland who would like to have them.  If you are interested in having them leave a comment and I will pick someone Monday night. I have no way to contact you if you are a no reply commenter. I don't have a lot of folks who visit so your chances to win are pretty good! If the person who gets the blocks would like to send me some fabric I would be glad to cut blocks for them. Anyway, hope all that made sense to you.

I did get the opportunity to go out and see the new house - here is a picture looking at it from the lake/back side of the house. It looks huge and I am so happy to tell you it is not.
front of the house - the garage has not been added, it will be on the left.
View from across the lake - zoomed in -
So very exciting! They are suppose to get the tresses on this week and the garage started, if the rain holds off.
The solar guy and the well driller are going to get together this week so hopefully that will be done in the next few weeks.

After reading Judy's post about dry canning mushrooms and onions I thought I would show you what I canned this week.

Yep! Easter M and Ms, peanut and plain. I got them for $1 a bag. 5 quarts and 1 pint. Every once in awhile I like to have a handful of candy. These should last until after Christmas. Aren't they pretty?

I also made two baby quilts that just need the binding, that yardage will be counted next week.
