Stash Report - March 28, 2010

I started these blocks last year. I used one pastel Jelly roll and some black Kona to make these two quilts. I was also able to make a bunch of 4 patches that I will make into a baby quilt at a later date. These are 16 patches - 2.5 x 4.5 patches.

This is a quilt I pieced last month and quilted this week. It is from Judy's Weekend Quilts book. What a breeze this quilt was to make - I plan on making more of these this year. Perfect guy quilt.

Fabric in this week - 6 yards - I had to buy some "Make Life" fabric from Twiddletails
Fabric in YTD - 119
Fabric used this week - 22.91
Fabric used YTD - 133.91

Total busted - 14.91 Yippee!

Stash Report - March 21, 2010

Happy Spring!

I pieced this top last week and finished it this week. I am not very creative when it comes to using up a gazillion 2.5 inch squares.

I pieced this top last year and finished it this week. I have a hard time tossing away these little pieces,I feel guilty when I do. The solid is a really nice deep blue - not periwinkle.

This is another way I found to use up some of the 2.5 inch squares. Pieced in January and finished this week.

The black and white fabric is NYC landmarks.I bought this at "The City Quilter" in NYC almost 5 years ago. I have been looking for the perfect pattern and came across the BQ pattern while in SD last year. I am not at all happy with this quilt. I made it as a rememberance of my NYC trip. I have decided to give it to a friend at Christmas. I think the reason why I don't like it is because the repeat in the fabric happens too often . I still have yards of the NYC fabric and I am going to get some other NYC fabric and mix it up a bit. The City Quilter is going to be coming out with custom NYC fabric that is just made for their shop. I really like the red and black fabrics next to the print. This was pieced last year, quilted in January and  I put the binding on this week.

Stash Report March 14, 2010

I pieced this top last year and finished it this week. It is a tumbler block, made with all solids. It is a donation quilt. I think I will be making a few more of these quilts this year as they go together easily and quickly. http://www.maryquilts.com/  made a really cute tumbler quilt using children's prints and solids.

Yes, I added more fabric this week. I bought some dot fabric and some background fabric to make quilts from JudyL's book, Weekend Quilts.

Fabric added this week ~ 35 yards
Fabric Added YTD ~ 113 yards

Fabric used this week ~ 13 yards
Fabric used YTD ~ 70.65

Fabric Busted ~ -42.35 (more in than out so far........)

Stash Busting March 6, 2010

This has been a great week. All the quilts finished this week are donation quilts. My first finish is a string quilt, pattern found at http://www.maryquilts.com/ , that I made last year and quilted this week.

The next quilt is from JudyL's website, http://www.patchworktimes.com/  ,Blueberries and Cream. I pieced it in Feb. I really like how this quilt turned out and hope to make a few more in different colors.
This quilt is from JudyL's book, Weekend Quilts, also pieced last month. This was a really great quilt to make in just a few days. I didn't do the 1/2 square corners, but it still looks good.
This year I am making the majority of my donation quilts for guys. I am tired of using muslin for background so I went and bought 27 yards of fun "guy" type backgrounds.

This next quilt was cut out almost 2 years ago. "Somehow" it got misplaced and resurfaced in January of this year. I couldn't remember which pattern I was using so I tried putting the pieces together like a puzzle, nothing worked. I finally found the pattern in the book Amazing Nickle Quilts, Texas Two Step. I started putting it together only to discover I wasn't crazy about it. I decided to make 2 donation quilts instead of a quilt for our bed. This is the first quilt.

Now that it is quilted, I LOVE IT, and wished I had continued with my original plan.

I am only counting fabric as being "used" when a quilt is 100% finished.

Fabric added this week ~ 27
Fabric added YTD ~ 78

Fabric used this week ~ 35.15
Fabric used YTD ~ 57.65
