July 20, 2014 ~ stash report ~ baby quilts

For some reason not everyone is able to see all the pictures - don't know how to fix the problem - so sorry.....

I made a  quick trip to Hobby Lobby because I "wanted" a few more pieces of solids, they have the best selection of Kona solids in my area. And came home with 13 yards -

The four solids are what I went after, I couldn't leave without the two swirly fabrics. I use a lot of black dots in sashings and the top two fabrics were on the clearance table and will be used in  Mollie's Strippie quilts.

One yard was used to bind two Texas A and M quilts for a friend~

It rains an average of 1-3 days a week here and that makes for slow progress on our house.

Finished two Quick Strippie quilts.

I bought a roll of baby size batting when it was on sale at Joann's and used a $5 off total purchase. I was pleased with the price. When I got it home and unwrapped it, the batting poofed out to 1/2 inch thick. I have never used this type of batting on my long arm before. I soon discovered I could not quilt it as I usually do. This batting requires large designs/meandering. I also realized when sewing on the binding that I needed to make it 2.5 inches instead of 2.25 like I usually do.

I have 15 more to quilt and bind. Yep, I used the same pattern for all of them.
Here they are before the edges were trimmed. They are all going to Ronald's House. I am only counting the two that are finished in this week's tally.

Those little quilts are pretty and a great way to use fabric. I don't know why, but none of the house pics are showing up for me. Very rainy here, too. Have a great week!

The strip quilts are really cute! Do you longarm quilt or quilt on a regular machine? :)
