I tried two different ways to make the geese - Wing Clipper by Deb Tucker and Fit To Be Geese by Open Gate. I ended up using Wing Clipper's direction for making the geese and Open Gate's ruler for squaring them up. Worked great - perfect geese every time.
This next quilt is going to Sarah's Church Ministry.
The pattern is Glory Bound by Paula Barnes. It was a fun quilt to piece and after trimming all the large 1/2 sq triangles it went together pretty quick. I did not make the smaller star points as 1/2 sq triangles, I left the geese part in one piece as I wanted to use some 2.5 inch squares I already had. 64x64 before washing. Great pattern to use up some scraps or precuts.
Used - 293.86 yards
Added - 91 yards
Net Used YTD - 202.86 yards
Quilts finished in 2012 - 34
My goals for 2012 are simple~
1 - make one QOV each month.
2 - make one quilt for Ronald McDonald's House each month
3 - finish one already started quilt each month
4 - if I complete the above 3 goals each month I can start one new quilt

Dee Dee, your Migration quilt is great!! I have never used either of those tools for flying geese. Will have to look into it. Also Love your Glory Bound. What size are the half squares blocks? That would be a good scrap busting pattern for me. Nice work.
Your goals for the year may be simple, but they seem very ambitious to me. I think 34 finished quilts so far this year is amazing! You inspire me!
Wow...you are Super Sew Woman! Love your finished projects too.
Love your "Migration" quilt ... and that's where constructing this one would put me ... straight in the asylum!!! Great Sunday stash report! :)
Beautiful quilts! You've done really well on your goals this year. Congrats on your progress.
Your "Migration" quilt is great. What a good one for a QOV quilt. What a brave soul you are. I have friends who were ready for serious counseling after dealing with too many flying geese blocks!! ;>)
Love your "Glory Bound." Very striking.
Love the plaids and dots and florals all together in the Glory Bound quilt. It is a great use of scraps.
how did you piece the migration quilt???
did you start in the middle - with a (sort of) log cabin style of piecing the geese together???
i love it!!!
