Finally getting back into quilting! Thought I had lost all desire.
I am volunteering at the Historian's office, helping folks to find their ancestors. I am also transcribing old records. I am enjoying my time there.
I can't believe I put myself out there and joined TWO guilds. One seems like it is going to be loads of fun and the other one not so much. This is truly a big step for me.
The fun guild is making pillowcases for a children's home and since I don't have a machine to take to meetings (yet) I made 17 at home and I will help with the ironing during the meeting.
Used 17 yards of fabric! One box of fabric that I didn't have to unpack and find a home for.
Since we have no Internet at our home and I have to drive 15 miles to the library to use their Internet I will not be posting to JudyL's stash reports. I think the reports really helps me see my progress and I will still keep a running total here.
Fabric usage ~
fabric in ~ .66
fabric out ~17
used YTD ~38.56
Quilts Finished ~ 3 ~ each quilt will only be counted in one category
QOV ~
RMH ~ 3
UFO ~
New ~
Hexie Flowers ~ 93 out of 225
Here are a few pictures of my sewing area - - - -
Still tweaking.....On the right are 4 shelf units that hold most of my fabric. straight back is my sewing table, to the left is the long arm. The white thing on the back wall is my heater/AC. The bookcase holds my books and bolts of fabric on the bottom.
You can already see my cutting table is a mess! More boxes that need to be unpacked. Still looking for a box of rulers...
Trying to get everything where I can find it. The bottom cabinets I had in my old sewing room. The top cabinets Bill had in his stained glass room.
This is where my ironing board (which is upside down) will go. The bookcase holds backing fabrics. Even more boxes waiting to be unpack.
Finally got the TV set up! Now I can watch reruns of Bones and NCIS while piecing! Love the laminate floor as it is so easy to take care of.
Hoping to find the binding for a QOV this week. I have two tops that need quilting and a baby quilt that needs binding.
Feels good to be back making quilts.

SO good to hear from you! I was starting to worry. Great looking sewing room! Thanks for the tour, even in its current state. Lots of good ideas. I'm jealous, hoping my new one will be as nice (if I live to see it!).
It looks like you are getting organized. I love the peg board for your rulers. Great idea. They are going to love your pillowcases. I look forward to seeing all the wonderful quilts you will be making.
She's back!!! Yay! It's so awesome that you are participating with the quilt guild - sounds like fun. My daughter and I were admiring your pillow cases! And then we drooled over the sewing room pictures! Loving the longarm room. Are the rest of the areas upstairs also? I noticed that those spots had carpet. I am so excited to see your post!
Wow...your new sewing room is looking great! I would love a laminated or wooden floor...much easier clean up. Sounds like you have gotten back into the sewing mood!
I think I've said this before, but your sewing areas are amazing. Hope you get all the boxes sorted out soon and feel like quilting again. 17 pillowcases! Wow.
Yay for almost moving in, Yay for making space - but holy cow , that is a process isn't it. Yay for the super awesome pillowcases!!! Once everything is all settled you will really get the urge to dig back in!! Glad you are almost done!!
