Stash Report - January 4, 2015 - RMH #1

Wishing you the best - happiest - most wonderful
New Year ever!

My first quilt of 2015!

This RMH quilt is one I saw over at "Quilting is more fun than Housework".  I had the fabric so decided to go for it, with a few changes.

It is a large lap quilt as it fits perfectly on the top of a queen bed.

I had some zebra print for the back -
I used the left over backing for the binding.

My 1/2 square triangles finished at 5.75 inches - such an odd size for me as I usually only sew in whole or half numbers.

I am not sure why I have animal prints or when or where I bought them and I think I have enough for at least 5 more quilts!

More hexie flowers for a total of 70 -

Deanna shared a great notebook on her blog. I went to Walgreens and bought a couple of them.

The left side of the page is graph paper and the right is lined. $6.99 each. I think these will be perfect for designing quilts and blocks.

I only count fabric as out when the quilt is 100% finished.

Linking up with JudyL's stash busting post.....

Awesome.
I love that quilt. The animal prints add so much motion, but it doesn't look like animal prints at all.
Keep on keeping on.

You found the perfect fabric for the binding and the back of the quilt. I know this quilt will be loved by someone special. Your hexies are looking good.

That's one type of fabric I don't have in my stash! Love the quilt. That notebook looks interesting especially since it is spiral bound. I have been using a cheap graphing notebook and it doesn't like to lie flat. Happy New Year to you too!

Hey Dee Dee, Wow! What a wonderful start to the new year. Love the quilt. isn't it amazing how we accumulate certain fabrics and can't remember where, when, or why we purchased them. Can relate completely. Love the quilt. Your goals are nicely ambitious. Hope you have a wonderfully quilty year.

Great quilt to start off the new year. Your goals are ambitious, but you always amaze me with all you get done each year. Good notebook for quilters who like to design quilts. Thanks for the reference.

A great finish! Love dye way your baking fabric made a stripey binding. I'm working on a QoV from stash now, but it's string pieced, so it will take a while.
