Quilt for Vets of Wayne County, TN - Part 8

4 more Korean War Vet quilts are finished! I am thrilled, not sure how many more need to be quilted and bound.

A friend made the 16 patches, the pinwheels were sew and flip corners from another quilt. The pinwheels weren't the same size as the 16 patches so I framed them in red which makes them pop. It is fun to see the leftover bits from other quilts become their own quilt.

This quilt was made by the group. They made the string blocks and the 1/2 square triangles. The group hasn't seen this quilt and I think they are going to be amazed to see that their blocks made such a beautiful quilt. We have another one like this with red strings and blue 1/2 sq triangles waiting for binding.

Can't remember where this pattern is from. I think it might look better with a bunch of different fabrics. The white fabric has little stars on it.

All the 1/2 square triangles in this quilt were sew and flip corners from two other quilts that we made. It is such a fun quilt. One member of the group ironed all the seams open and she just couldn't imagine what I was going to do with all those little squares. She will be pleasantly surprised.

All in all I think the group is doing a remarkable job of helping with these quilts.
